With a clear direction to follow, we look outward to get the lay of the land. We research industry norms and trends to understand the landscape, draw inspiration, and determine how to establish a unique position and visual identity.

It’s time to bring the vision to life. This is where we break ground and turn inspiration into tangible design products. We’ll collaborate over artboards, drafts, and design examples to ensure your input and visions reach every aspect of the work. Through this process, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your own brand, what it means to you, and what it means to your customers.

We know that a design, for all its expression and creativity, serves a functional
purpose. Our review process ensures a clean result with no bugs, typos, or hitches, so that it can be

When we introduce you to the final product, it will
feel like seeing a friend for the first time in years. It will still be your brand, but it will have
grown in ways you could have never expected. You’ll be excited to get to know it, learn about it, and
finally introduce it to the world.
Who We Are
It all started 27 years ago on the soccer fields of South Pasadena where two teammates kicked off a friendship.
While those fields may not have taught us earth-shattering soccer skills – shout out
to all the parent-coaches – they taught us many things. (Oh, and by ‘us’, we mean ‘us’, the guys in the
photos below. Josh, left, and Mitchell, right).
Those fields taught us the value of exploring new
areas of interest. They taught us the value of teamwork and communication. And they taught us the value of
sweating the details, literally.
Fast forward nearly three decades, we’ve gathered years of
experience in various creative fields, spanning graphic design, e-commerce, video production, branding, and
marketing. (Not to mention short stints in accounts payable and bussing tables). With our respective work
backgrounds and shared life lessons, we’ve come together to start Foundation with the sole purpose of
designing great products for great people.
